HIDDEN LAUNDRY ROOM

A laundry/mud room in this grand mid-century modern home was a must, serving as a secondary entrance to the home. However, it was important to keep this space hidden from guest as it is located slightly adjacent to the dining room. With our Clients entertaining guests often, we designed the home to be as functional as possible, leading us to cleverly disguise the laundry room in with a custom built-in.

Lush greenery surrounds the home, so clean white walls with warm wood accents were only fitting. Keeping these tones in mind, we created a simple, yet significant built-in along the wall that leads to the laundry room; seamlessly integrating the door into the design. To keep the mid-century modern feel, we opted for no hardware or millwork detail; instead, a clean, solid slab with push-open and close mechanics.

In the laundry room, there is a splash of traditional design mixed with modern materials to keep the look fresh. Shaker style cabinet doors, white subway tile in the backsplash and slate flooring bring the room together. Of course, a large, framed window showcasing the beautiful scenery just outside.
