Room Reveal
AN ODE TO LEAP YEAR
We can’t believe 4 years have passed since we designed the dining room for the 2016 Pasadena Showcase House of Design. In 2016, Pantone came out with two colors: Rose Quartz and Serenity. We used those colors as the main jumping point for the room. The pink walls, blue velvet sofas and wallpapered ceiling outlined the entire design.
Four years ago, when I walked through this historical estate, I couldn’t help but whisper to the walls, “I will be back to restore you one day...” I had a vision of how to design the entire home incorporating period influences with modern day amenities. Three years later, I had the opportunity to re-design this phenomenal estate with my team. We were thrilled when our client wanted the dining room to be recreated from our original Showcase House design.
The original color palette remained the same with the exception of a few new additional touches. This time around, we used the dining table that was original to the home that we fully restored, as well as the host & hostess chairs upholstered in a sapphire, velvet damask. The antique area rug from Mansour brings magic into the room and aids in a perfect balance from feminine to masculine. So many rich colors to draw from. ~ Making The World A Prettier Place One Room At A Time. - KF.
