When it comes to selecting a color palette for the exterior of a house, our best rule of thumb is “less is more.” It can be overwhelming thinking about matching walls to trims, windows, doors, and fixtures. Hence, why we like to use two to three colors that compliment each other.

Starting with a white base is foolproof. Nonetheless, choosing the “right” white can be tricky as undertones vary and sunlight can effect how colors appear and wear. Our go-to’s are the warmer tones as they are timeless without looking too boring or plain. Depending on the location of the house, our favorite way to contrast this is to go with dark finishes on trims, windows, or fixtures. Always take into consideration the style of the home.
